LCU’s Seventh President Brings Faithful Confidence amid Challenging Times

On April 1, 2020, Dr. Scott McDowell began his tenure as the seventh president of Lubbock Christian University. Such a monumental event would normally be accompanied with great excitement and ceremony—instead, amid the challenges and changes introduced by the COVID-19 epidemic, his first days on campus posed more challenges than anyone would have expected when he was appointed in February.

Students Maintain Connections and Community from Afar

During mid-April, LCU’s campus is usually bustling with students excited for the next baseball game, working on big class projects, or just enjoying the fresh spring air. But even amid such desolate circumstances, one of the university’s brightest attributes continues to shine—the deep, rich spirit of community.
